Your Cosmetic Consult
Our dentists will conduct an initial dental examination with radiographs and address the issues of every patient. Any patient concerns will be taken care of by our expert team with the goal of achieving your desired look. Clients will also be able to visualise the end result of their Cosmetic Treatment thanks to our smile design programme.
The treatments available to clients range from one-time visit procedures such as simple bonding to more complex treatments.
Tooth Whitening
Merrion Road Dental provides bleaching that will visually improve the whiteness of your teeth by four or five shades with the process being further aided by a take-home kit for every patient.
Clients will receive custom-made trays to fit their mouth perfectly as part of the whitening process. Patients are encouraged to make an appointment for a scale and polish prior to bleaching to ensure the desired effect.
Dental Bondings (Composite Veneers)
Dental Bondings give the appearance of straight teeth without the need for orthodontics or removing sound tooth structure. Bonding is a simple one-time visit procedure and can be completed without the need of local anaesthetic.
Crowns (Caps)
Crowns are used to strengthen or to restore teeth that are too broken down to hold an alternate restoration. Crowns are often placed after root canal treatment to improve the seal of the tooth and strengthen the core.
Crowns are also used for aesthetic purposes to improve the appearance of broken or misaligned or discoloured teeth. Crowns can be made from metal, metal fused to porcelain or pure porcelain.
Posts and Cores
A tooth needs to be built up by using a post and core when there is not enough tooth structure available to place a crown alone. The procedure is carried out after root canal treatment of the tooth. The root is then prepared for for the post and an impression is sent to the lab.
When the post and core is cemented, we will then have enough tooth structure for a crown.
Veneers
Veneers are aimed at patients looking to achieve the most aesthetic result possible for their teeth. The lab team will custom-make your veneers using porcelain.
Composite Veneers are also available to patients who want to improve the appearance of their teeth in one setting. The In-Surgery Veneer builds up a client’s teeth and can improve the appearance of a tooth within one hour.
Bridges
A smile with missing teeth can greatly affect a person’s confidence in social situations. Bridges are an excellent and aesthetic option for patients but the procedure is reliant on there being solid supportive remaining teeth either side of the missing tooth.
Implants
An implant is a titanium screw that is placed directly into the bone without using any other teeth for support. Once the titanium screw is integrated with the bone we can place a dental crown to complete the restoration. We work together with an oral surgeon to provide the best implant treatment possible.
