What’s happening with Coronavirus? Know the Facts

Protecting yourself from Coronavirus

  • Wash your hands/use antibacterial sanitiser properly (see video below)
  • Cough or sneeze into your sleeve/elbow crease or a tissue (dispose of tissue properly)
  • Disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects
  • Wash hands after coughing/sneezing, after toilet use, before eating/preparing food, if you’re in contact with a sick person (especially with respiratory issues), if your hands are dirty, if you have handled animals/animal waste
  • Do not touch your mouth, nose or eyes if your hands are not clean
  • Follow this travel advice from the Department of Foreign Affairs

Useful information

If you suspect you may have symptoms of the Coronavirus and have been in contact with a confirmed case or been to an affected area within the last 14 days, please phone your GP or Emergency Department. Do not present yourself, phone first. If you do not have a GP, please visit goldenpages.ie to find a number for a phone doctor near you.

Contact HSELive on 1850 24 1850 if you think you have been in contact with someone confirmed as having coronavirus or to a healthcare facility in another country where coronavirus patients are being treated.
